Quiet Position
A mile from the nearest road approached by an ancient 3/4 mile Lime Avenue, Kentwell sits on its moated island surrounded by gardens and open parkland.
It offers enticing views over the neighbouring countryside with minimal signs of habitation.
Yet Hotels nearby
For those seeking accommodation there are three hotels in the historic 16th C village of Long Melford from which Kentwell's Avenue runs. Lavenham and Sudbury, each 3 miles away offer more hotels. There are also many Holiday Let units and good B&Bs in the locality.
Rooms in the Hall
There is a choice of handsome rooms of various sizes inside the Hall. In addition Kentwell has its own selection of tents and Tudor style pavilions, while large marquees may be hired. All can be used in conjunction with the Hall.
The Overcroft
In the nearby Stableyard is a huge (2,500 sq ft) and hansome oak boarded and oak timber-framed first floor space which can accommodate large numbers for meetings, weddings, functions and fairs of all sorts.
Catering
Kentwell has its own Chef who provides high quality fare usually centred upon Kentwell's own traditionall reared Rare Breed meat. Kentwell can therefore provide full catering for any occasion
Numbers
We can accommodate any number from say 12 for a Grand Private Dinner to up to several hundred using the Overcroft or Gardens and Marquees.
Organization
Kentwell's organization is second to none. Kentwell devises and runs its Great Annual Re-Creation which last for three weeks each summer and involves some 750 Participants, about 15,000 schoolchildren and numerous public at the weekends. Kentwell also organizes and runs its own Open Air Entertainments Season in the Summer. No event you may propose will pose anything like the demands of these Events.
