One of the delights of Kentwell's rooms is that each has its own distinctive style and feel.

Great Hall

This fine room, part of the original build of about 1500 but improved by Thomas Hopper in the Gothick style in 1825.

It is often used for Receptions, Tudor Feasts, Meetings and Concerts. It has sublime acoustics. As from April it is expected to be licenced for holding Civil Wedding Ceremonies.

Main Dinning Room

Many people love this room, formed by Thomas Hopper as a perfect cube in 1825. This time in the 'Jacobethan' style and further 'improved' by the Phillips. Its deep rich colours strike a response from many.Used for either intimate or larger Dinners, Receptions and Meetings. Here shown set up for 50 for dinner.

Parlour

This is a fine classical room, in which Thomas Hopper applied a lighter classical touch in his re-modelling of 1825. The Parlour of the original build of 1500 nad retains much of that feel, enhanced by the addition by the Phillips of The Four Seasons painted ceiling. Used as the first room for dinners (70 at round tables) and as a Sitting Out Room for certain fuctions.

Billiard Room

This room created by Thomas Hopper in 1826 houses Kentwell's rare and ancient heraldic glass windows. It is used as the Ante Room for Wedding Ceremonies in the adjacent old Library but also used as a Billiard Room in connection with certain functions.

Library

This is one of Kentwell's handsomest rooms mostly created by Thomas Hopper in 1826 in a mixture of classical styles. It is used for Wedding Ceremonies, for boardroom type meetings and as a Casino in connection with certain functions.

State Bedroom

The State Bedroom and its adjoining Roman Styled State Bathroom have been created by the Phillips in works which started in the late 1980s.The Suite is available for single night stays and is used most as a honeymoon suite.

Undercroft

This is Kentwell's main tearoom sited beneath the East Wing at what (in modern parlance) would be called Garden Room level. It is used for lunches and dinners (capacity 100), as a Disco (and sometimes as a Disco/Casino combined) in connection with certain Functions.

Overcroft

This huge timber framed oak boarded first floor space in the Stableyard, with its own service area, has been used for a wide variety of uses: Fairs & Markets, Furniture Displays, Meetings, Feasts, Dinner Dances, Wedding Receptions, Christmas Parties...

Courtyard

A favourite location in Summer for Receptions of any sort. Also used regularly for Ceilidhs, where 300/400 may dance to a Caller.
