Open Air Shakespeare
Played in the Open Air on the Cedar Lawn within the Moat with the mellow red tudor brickwork of the House as a backcloth.
British Shakespeare Company
The British Shakespeare Company is the best known and most successful open-air Shakespeare company in Great Britain. As a performer of Shakespeare's works, it is second in size and reputation only to the RSC. The company have performed in London's West End, at major repertory theatres and even at Royal Palaces.
The Cast
The cast of 16 of the finest professional Shakespearian actors dwarfs that of most other Open Air Shakespeare Companies and the quality of the actors is extremely high including several known to millions from their performences in TV. Such as Steven Blakeley starred as PC Geoff Younger in the hit police drama Heartbeat. Gabriel Thomson spent 10 years as young Mark Harper in the BAFTA-winning sitcom My Family.
Louisa Lytton at quite short notice will be taking over the roles of Hero in Much Ado About Nothing and Cobweb in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.These roles were originally to be played by Roxanne Pallett who injured herself during her Dancing on Ice tour and felt she could not tour.
Louisa is best known for her roles of P.C. Beth Green (2007 & 2008) in The Bill and Ruby Allen (2005 & 2006) in EastEnders for the BBC. She has also appeared in Strictly Come Dancing reaching the quarter finals.

The Performances
Gates open at 6.30pm for those of the audience who wish to arrive early to enjoy the Gardens or set up their picnics. Each play starts at 7.45pm. There will be two Acts with a one hour supper interval in between when the Gardens are floodlit. Kentwell Suppers in the Undercroft (or outside if fine) may be booked in advance. The first part of the supper is served before the play starts, pudding and coffee are served in the Interval. The play ends at about 11.00pm. Picnic tables of various sizes (for 4, 6 or 8 persons with integral seating) may be booked in advance.
