WWI

Focused upon domestic country house life in 1917, at the start of the fourth year of the Great War.

The 'Family' in the Hall will be entertaining their guests, tended to by their butler and footman. The cooks will be busy in the kitchen. A Recruiting Sergeant will be looking to sign you up, as will the local representative of the nursing VAD. If weather permits, there may even be a game or two of lawn bowls, or some cricket after luncheon.

All is set in the year 1917 - see how the Hall and the village responded to the dramatic changes brought by The Great War.

Tudor Longbow Archery Challenge

We will also have some of our Tudor archers demonstrating longbow archery and associated crafts at the Butts, and a few 'surprise' Tudors in some other locations.

WWII Home Front
