A visitor to our Home Educators Event said:
A huge thank you to you and everyone at Kentwell for a wonderful, memorable day at Kentwell yesterday.
My six year old and our German teenage friend both voted it fantastic. The characters were all great, and they were excellent at pitching things just right for our different ages and experiences. To see and take part in such a range of activities was just perfect. We managed to visit virtually every part.
Weather
Please do not think that Kentwell is just a fair weather visit - we carry on whatever the weather. There will be indoor activities and some of our outdoor activities can be moved inside if the weather fails us.
How long to spend?
Most people will spend most of the day here - there is so much to do and see.
Timings
The event will open to Home Educators from 11.00am. You are welcome to arrive on site from 10.30am, to park and collect your tickets. You are also welcome to picnic prior to entering the event or, if you retain your tickets, you are welcome to exit the event to picnic, and then go in for a second visit. Many Home Educator visitors find this an ideal networking time! Last entry is at 3pm - if you arrive later than this, you will not get the full value of your visit. The House and the Bakery/Dairy area will close at 4pm and the whole event will close at 5.00pm.
Catering
We do not allow picnics inside the event, however you are welcome to use our picnic area.
Please note, dogs are not allowed within the grounds.

Halloweenies

Kentwell’s School of Sorcery -The Sorcery Games
Sat 20 October to Sun 28 October
Click here to BOOK TICKETS NOW!
This October Half-Term, join us for our most fun children’s event of the year!
Kentwell’s School of Sorcery and Magic will again be welcoming new students for the Halloween intake. Bring your family for a morning or afternoon of fun-filled magical learning!
Our witches, wizards, tutors and professors will teach you how to do all manner of magical things in the Magic Class, the Potion Class, the Fairy Identification Class (and hunt!) and the Magic Art Cannon Class. Make your own wand, and learn how to use it, and collect stamps to add to your report card for when you visit the Headmaster!
As well as all of these hands-on activities, you are invited to take part in the Sorcery Games: lots of halloween inspired challenges for you all to join in with, including the Dragon Woods, Fear Alley, Tunnel of Light, Assault Course and the Broomstick Challenge.
The event is based in and around Kentwell's historic Moat House, and acres of gardens and grounds. This event is now in its sixth year - every year you will find something new and exciting to join in with. Kentwell's School of Sorcery, brought to you by the creators of Scaresville, doesn't like to stand still!
Sessions: Please arrive in good time for your little witches and wizards to get the most out of their visit! The timings on the ticket categories are the times between which you may enter the event and start your visit. You are then welcome to stay for the rest of the day until the event closes at 4pm.
Dress up in your favourite Halloween outfits, or come in outfits suitable for the School of Sorcery, for double the fun - but make sure you are wrapped up warm underneath them, and feel free to wear your magical wellies, as most of the activities will be outside.
Advance booking essential! We occasionally have a few tickets available to buy on the day, but we advise that you secure your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
When can we buy tickets?
Tickets are available now, click this link to buy tickets.

Can we leave the children for the day?
No, a parent or guardian or carer must be with and supervise their children at all times.
Is it free for Adults? We only want to watch.
We charge for adults, as well as children, as there are activities for the whole family to get involved and get hands-on with!
Will it be scary?
No, it is not intended to be scary. it will be more Halloween-inspired, suitable for younger visitors!
What should we wear?
Please ensure that children are dressed suitably for activities outdoors as well as indoors, as this event will be going ahead whatever the weather. Fancy dress encouraged for twice the fun!
What about Hungry Little Monsters?
A range of ghoulishly delicious food and snacks will be available for your little monsters from the stable yard and van in our unfairground. Food for big monsters will be available too!
Will the House and Gardens be open?
The main House will not be Open but the adjoining Moat House will be a main centre of activity. Elsewhere the Gardens will be used but not the Farm area which is given over to Scaresville, our adult scare event, which is closed during the daylight hours.
