Retail & Visitor Experience Assistants

Kentwell Hall are seeking to recruit Retail & Visitor Experience assistants to join our team. If you enjoy working with the public and being part of a friendly passionate team in a wonderful location then this position could be for you.
Our Retail & Visitor Experience assistants are the very first and last point of contact for our visitors at Kentwell Hall.

The post involves the day to day running of our shop, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all our visitors and delivering a high level of customer service at all times. Duties include ticket and retail sales along with promoting and selling future event tickets and season tickets, stock control handling all types of payment transactions and stocking shelves and cleaning.

We are looking for individuals who are customer focused, self motivated and can work on their own initiative and of course deliver exceptional high levels of customer service at all times.

Work hours will be variable and will consist of some weekends on a rota. Typical hours of work will be 10am-6pm from Saturday through to Thursdays April - November

Catering Assistants

Kentwell Hall are seeking to recruit Catering Assistants to join our busy tearoom. If you enjoy working at a fast pace and being part of a friendly passionate team in a wonderful location then this could be for you.

Our Catering Assistants here at Kentwell serve a wide range of delicious cakes and light lunches to warming soups and daily specials to all of our visitors, and we’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly team.

The post involves assisting the Catering Manager in the day to day running of our tearoom, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all our visitors and delivering the highest standards of customer service at all times. Duties will include serving food and drinks, preparing food, using tearoom equipment, handling all types of payment transactions and stocking displays and cleaning.

Casual Catering and Event Assistants

Kentwell Hall hosts various events throughout the year and we are seeking assistants in both catering and event staff to continue to grow and maintain our high standard of seasonal events and private functions throughout the year.

These positions as there nature suggests are varied and mainly weekend work only. Both roles require individuals who can deliver a high level of customer service and also be able to work in a team and at a fast fun and at times pressurised pace.

We are looking for the following individuals to apply.

Catering Assistants - to assist in our catering areas during our key events. The post involves working with our team to deliver a high level of customer service to our visitors, duties will include serving food and drinks, preparing food, using tearoom equipment, handling all types of payment transactions and stocking displays and cleaning.

Event Assistants - if you are a budding actor, entertainer, magician or crafter or just love working with children and the general public and feel that you could be part of our event activities (non re-enactment) then this could be right up your street. We are looking for individuals who have outgoing personalities and can work and entertain the public as part of some of our special event days and of course deliver a high standard of customer experience.

Work hours will be typically 10am through to 6pm although corporate and weddings will of course vary. Events are typically April through to November and manly weekends.

Kitchen Porter

Kentwell Hall are seeking to recruit a Kitchen Porter to join our busy tearoom. If you enjoy working at a fast pace and being part of a friendly passionate team in a wonderful location then this could be for you.

The post involves assisting the Chef and the Catering Manager in the day to day running of our tearoom and Kitchen, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all our visitors and delivering the highest standards of professionalism. Duties will include preparing food, using Kitchen and tearoom equipment, cleaning and replenishing crockery for the tearoom and stocking displays and general cleanliness of the Kitchen and Tearoom areas.

We are looking for individuals who are hardworking, be able to work on their own initiative and be an integral part of our catering team.

Work hours will be variable and will consist of some weekends on a rota. Typical hours of work will be 10am-6pm Saturday to Thursdays April - November

Internships and University Student Placements

Kentwell often has paid vacancies for students. Experience gained at Kentwell should prove of use for almost any career. Placements are available at weekends, or for longer periods throughout the main season. It is hard work in a very stimulating environment working alongside many talented and lively people. Kentwell is very busy during the season and offers involvement in a wider range of activities than almost any other Historic House in England. Live as a Tudor

We recruit in January and February for volunteers to take part in our summer season events. Scaresville Scream Team Volunteers

Volunteer scarers required for the Scaresville Scream Team. Dare to scare or help out behind the scenes with tech, wardrobe and make up. A minimum of three nights plus two training days/evenings beforehand is required. Over 18, responsible people only for a demanding, but stimulating opportunity. Dedicated scarers required to join the Scaresville Scream Team. You must be able to commit to anything between 15 and 29 nights during the run of the Scaresville event. Over 18, responsible people only for a demanding, but stimulating opportunity. A great short-term position for drama students or resting actors especially.
