Tudor Re-Creation Days, after Easter

Tue 29 March to Sunday 3 April open Daily, 11am to 5pm

  • 30 of Kentwell's Tudors bringing the year 1589 to life
  • House, Gardens and Farm Open
  • See the spring lambs
  • Storybook Trail and Heffalump Hunt Welly Walks
  • Drifts of daffodils and spring bulbs

This is a smaller-scale version of the large Tudor event we held over the Easter weekend. The main Tudor work-stations are in operation each day: the bakehouse and the dairy in the Moat House; the kitchen and the gentlefolk in the Hall itself; and the Woolshed at the Barns. There will be also be some other characters and smaller activities beyond these main ones. This is not one of Kentwell's 'big' events, where we have hundreds of Tudors over the whole site - our volunteers will be adding colour and activity to selected areas each day.

House, Garden & Farm and other activities

The House, Gardens & Farm will all be fully open this week. The Storybook Trail through the gardens and the Heffalump Trail through the Farm will both be open - see where your imagination can take you!

We have young lambs on the farm - you may even see one being born! The very youngest lambs are in the Tudor Stables, with the older ones out in the paddocks with their mums, where they are free to run about.

Please do not think that Kentwell is just a fair weather visit - we carry on whatever the weather. There will be indoor activities and some of our outdoor activities can be moved inside if the weather fails us.

How long to spend?

Most people arrive early and aim to spend most of the day here - there is so much to do and see.

We shall be be serving homemade lunches and teas in the Stableyard Restaurant.

There is a picnic site by the Main Gates, with a marvellous view of the house, however we do not allow picnics inside the grounds.
