Dickensian Christmas Experience
Kentwell turns the Christmas clock back to the year 1869 and the age of Dickens to create a rich tapestry of lively and enjoyable activities for all ages.

What visitors can see and do
There are three Entry Time Slots and even the latest should allow enough time to see and do everything.
AT THE HALL
Meet the Hall’s Victorian Bence Family with their children, other relatives and friends together with their household staff and cooks, busy or active.
Some of their quality spend time is in the ballroom perfecting their waltz and other dance steps..
While many of the gentlemen may be out on the hunting filled of shooting, the ladies gossip together when not at their needle and often then too.
Staff are busy fussing around. Cooks ever active in the Great Kitchen.
OUTSIDE THE HALL

Villagers may be encountered anywhere on the Manor. Perhaps some spend time at the Inn carousing

Meet Father Christmas who will individually see children with their family.
Nearby Mother Christmas will help children write a letter fo Santa Claus to visit them on Christmas Eve

Our Mr Dickens will read from his own A Christmas Carol with the Ghost and Spirits of Christmas making their appearance with the aid of a novel Victorian Effect.
AT THE STABLES
Who is in Cratchit’s Cottage today ? Elsewhere surprises await if you find them or enter through the secret door

Advance online booking is strongly recommended as it will be cheaper than at the Gate on the day when tickets may not be available because we shall be limiting numbers on site.
When booking, please select the entry time that suits you best as vistors may not enter before their tickets entry time — but once you're in, you may stay until we close! Last entry at 2:00pm.
The Tearoom will be open during opening hours.
No dogs, except guide dogs, are permitted within the grounds.
The ticket price includes entry to the event, the activities and parking. The only extra costs should be for refreshments and souvenir purchases.
What about the weather?
Dickensian Christmas will go on whatever the weather. Dress for the weather to be expected.

What’s on at Kentwell Hall
Kentwell hosts a variety of events and family days throughout the year, during which time the regular garden and house visit booking is unavailable.
Booking in the event will allow access to the gardens and depending on the event, certain areas of the house but not all.
