An exclusive wedding venue for your big dayAt Kentwell every wedding truly is unique, planned in collaboration with you to ensure that it is everything you've ever dreamt it to be.
A grand and exquisite venue for any wedding
Kentwell is set in over 25 acres of its own gardens and parkland offering you a distinctive atmosphere for your wedding day.
The main rooms
The house has three main rooms which interconnect to form an area over 100ft long to accommodate up to 100 guests for ceremonies and drinks receptions with the breakfast served in the Overcroft or a Marquee — A grand, historic and beautiful setting for any Wedding.
This is an impressive oak floored, timber-framed, first floor area in the nearby Old Stableyard within an easy walking distance from the House. The space is 120ft long and is suitable for up to a maximum of 160 guests for dining and dancing and it has a small stage at one end that can be used for a band or disco.
The overcroft can be used in conjunction with the House or can be hired separately.
Wedding ceremonies at Kentwell Hall
Kentwell offers an exclusive location for your wedding ceremony in the magnificent Great Hall which can be hired for the ceremony only or as part of a full wedding day.
The Holy Trinity Church
The Holy Trinity Church is a medieval English church with a Perpendicular Gothic style; built in the late 1400s by the Clopton family who built Kentwell Hall. The church is situated at the bottom of Kentwell avenue and can be seen across the parkland. This offers the possibility of walking back from the church to the manor — or via a traditional horse drawn carriage or vintage car.
Have it your way
Some couples find their own devised ceremony more meaningful and we welcome those who wish to have it their own way. Kentwell offers numerous romantic locations in the gardens which have been used to hold such ceremonies. Anything is possible and limited only by the couple’s imagination.
Indoor and outdoor wedding receptions
Depending on the time of the year, wedding drinks receptions can be held indoor in the Parlour and the Great Hall or outdoor on the Tudor Maze Courtyard.
In fine weather, wedding receptions can take place on the Cedar Lawn inside the moat which houses England biggest Cedar trees. The Cedar Lawn offers a fantastic lawn setting for you and your guests.
Planning & catering
Owner Judith Phillips and her assistant have been organising weddings for many years and are always on-hand to oversee proceedings on your big — day from beginning to end. Whether you are after an old-fashioned afternoon tea, festive fireworks or hiring our vintage 1931 Rolls Royce Limousine, the friendly Kentwell team is always happy to assist and can put you in touch with various recommended suppliers.
All catering is prepared in-house and to a high standard using our organically reared animals while all vegetables and other ingredients are sourced locally or from the garden when in season.
Kentwell offers first night accommodation for the bride and groom in our grand honeymoon suite and for immediate family in the historic bedrooms in the house, as well as luxurious holiday let on the Kentwell estate.
The state bedroom
A grand honeymoon suite — said to have once been used by the Duke of York (later King George V) — which has been restored with its original wallpaper and decorated with antique furniture, including a gilded cupid bed. The suite has an extravagant bathroom which is painted with murals inspired by Heraculaneum and Pompeii and the floor by Byzantine mosaic but featuring some of the animals on the farm.
Recently converted, Hall Barn, on the Kentwell estate, with its timber frame beams, garden and antique furniture is a charming location to relax in. It can sleep 11. There is a double and a single futon available.
