British Touring Shakespeare presents Shakespeare’s great tragedy

Romeo and Juliet

Friday 17th July

Doors open from 6:15pm for a 7:00 start

In Shakespeare’s Verona, hatred and violence are rife as the Montague and Capulet households play out their long-standing blood feud. Despite their warring families, it is love at first sight for young lovers Romeo and Juliet. Desperate to be together but forced apart by their families, will love prevail for the start-crossed lovers?

The company behind last year’s acclaimed performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream return to the beautiful surroundings of Kentwell Hall with another of Shakespeare’s best loved plays.

Expect to be entertained, thrilled and moved as British Touring Shakespeare draw on their decades of experience to deliver an unforgettable night among the stars watching this story of star crossed lovers, bringing the company’s renowned strengths of energy and accessibility to Shakespeare’s timeless classic tale of doomed love.

Audience Reviews:

  • Tragedy at its best, alfresco and with the pungency of the night.

    — Andrew Liddle, The Stage

  • To be honest, in an ideal world, Shakespeare probably IS better when performed outdoors. And in an ideal world it would always be performed by British Touring Shakespeare.

    — Dave Evans, Remote Goat
