The ultimate day of History Time Travel! Over 2,000 years of history in one day!
Encounter history from a range of different eras brought to life by 150 or so of Kentwell’s skilled living history interpreters, spread in separate 'pockets' throughout the buildings, gardens, farm and woodlands. Spend a whole day immersed in history at Kentwell and travel through time seeing each separate era or choose to concentrate upon those most relevant to current studies.
An excellent and stimulating combination of history and nostalgia, over 2000 years of history in one place, on one day - only at Kentwell!

This year’s Through the Ages Education Day is taking place on the Friday 22nd May 2026.

The gates open for our Education Day at 11:00am. Simply arrive, park up, and make your way to the shop to get checked in.
We ask that schools arrive around 30 minutes prior to their booked entry time, to allow for a snack and toilet break prior to entry.

We will be open on Education day from 11am to 5pm.
For our school visitors, we have entry time slots every ten minutes from 11am until 2pm. Each entry time slot has a maximum capacity of 30 pupils, schools wishing to book upwards of 30 pupils will need to two entry time slots.

At day exploring the past at Kentwell can easily take all day! Take your time and see as much or a little as you like.
Visits for school groups typically take between 3 and 4 hours.

When booking coaches, schools should allow a further 30 minutes after exiting the Re-Creation (for snacks & WC etc).

For our school groups, a deposit request will be sent to you along with your official booking confirmation.

For school groups, the full balance of your visit must be paid prior to your visit. We will send an invoice to be paid by BACS at the latest a fortnight before your visit.

For school booking enquiries, please email schools@kentwell.co.uk or call the office team. We aim to reply to all emails as soon as possible but please allow 10 working days for a reply during our busier periods. If you have not had a response in this time, please do get back in touch.

Any children coming to our events must have an accompanying adult with them.
For school groups, we ask for a ratio of 1 supervising adult (free entry) per 10 students.
